Mike Martin

Mr. Mike Martin started Malakina Accounting Services, LLC to meet the needs of individuals and small businesses in the areas of accounting and tax preparation. After serving honorably for almost nine years in the US Navy, he has served in various positions with more than twenty years’ experience in management, accounting, individual taxation, and training in the profit, non‐profit and higher education sectors. His previous experience includes serving as a Tax Trainer, Chair of a Business Department (along with being an Associate Professor), Assistant Area Manager, Controller, Business Manager, and a Business Officer Manager in several different organizations. In addition to duties with Malakina, he serves as an adjunct professor at several universities teaching in the areas of leadership, management, entrepreneurship, accounting, and taxation. He serves as a financial and tax advisor to many church organizations and works with organizations that need assistance with non-profit accounting. As an active member of the NATP-Hawaii organization and Enrolled Agent (EA), he looks to serve our community in any aspect involving not just our individuals and small businesses but also those churches and non-profits that need someone who understand the uniqueness of the non-profit accounting.
